More time needed!

The pic below is from Plantasia Cactus Gardens with the owner at the side of a yucca that was bought as Yucca thompsoniana.  It is now believed to be an awesome hybrid of Yucca rostrata x elata?

Yucca elata 2013

While out looking at the Yucca elata flowers, I found this rare tarantula hawk crawling around.  It was getting dark and the darn thing would not stop moveing and the fact that it was about 9 or more feet off the ground it made it very hard to take a decent pitcher.  It was close to 1 1/2 inches long and was black with orange wings.
This makes about the fourth one I have seen in my garden over the years.  It is a strange animal too see here in Idaho because there is no known tarantulas sp. in Idaho?  How ever there are atleast two other large spider spieces in the the state, trapdoor and carolina wolf spiders.

Over 11' tall from the ground.

Over 5' of flower bundles! (5'2")

All my other Yucca elatas, some better than others.

This is the one that flowered last year.

New this year.

And this one, new this year.
