Hybrid pricklypear and other flowers.

Here is a what I think is a hybrid between a O. macrocentra & O. polyacantha?
I found them last year as a small seedlings, it was covered with dark long spines, but as it got older it started to look different. So I was very surprised when I seen one had pink flowers.  It was found where I had O. macrocentra growing in the past as so was the other hybrid.  I have lots of small Opuntia starts every year, but you could tell when these were young they looked just like small O macrocentra.  But now I don't now?

And one with yellow flowers.

PS, this was the only opuntia(O. marcocentra) I had growing in this part of the yard, and this where the red flowered one was found.

Fire weed that came up from seed last year.
and more cactus flowers.

  1. Certainly some great plants, some of which bloomed here a month or more ago. Nice to see it all again! The mystery cactus...it could be what you say - I forwarded it on to a cactus buff here in Abq.
